One day before The Ocean Race continues with the start off Cape Verde, the crew still had a few appointments to deal with. At the skippers’ press conference, the quintet of the five Imocas crews presented itself in a different composition than in Alicante. Not only did Benjamin Dutreux hand over the skipper position to Robert Stanjek at GUYOT environnement – Team Europe, there was also a change at Team Malizia. Boris Herrmann handed over the leadership of the boat to Will Harris due to a foot injury.

So Robert Stanjek and Will Harris presented themselves on the podium alongside Kevin Escoffier (Holcim), Charlie Enright (11th Hour Racing) and Paul Meihat (Biotherm). Afterwards, the weather briefing was on the agenda, in which a supposed light wind weather situation was forecast for the coming days. After a few press appointments, the teams were able to celebrate in the evening. The award ceremony for the first leg and a farewell party were scheduled on the tropical island before the 4600 nautical mile leg to Cape Town. The race start is scheduled for Wednesday, 25 January at 5.10 pm (local time).
